In theory, whiteness and brightness of papers affect the lightness and brightness of the images produced. In practice, less bright type of papers will produce relatively darker colors. Looking at white papers with naked eyes will not differentiate the scale of whiteness of such paper. However, placing various white papers side by side will show that the degree of whiteness changes. Basically, the amount of blue light reflecting off a surface will make papers appear whiter and brighter.

The difference in papers in terms of the degree of whiteness and brightness will vary depending on which company made them. This is because their processes are as different as the products used in the manufacturing procedures. The results of observed qualities of papers will depend on an individual.
