| ICS Update Schedule Released For HTC Devices Posted: 23 May 2012 08:09 AM PDT It is a very commonly asked question regarding when would a device get updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. No doubt all the high end Android devices are eagerly awaiting the goodness of Ice Cream Sandwich on their devices. At least for one set of devices we have a good news. HTC has announced the tentative schedule of its devices about the update to the latest software. You can also head over to the official page of HTC here to know the dates. Here is what HTC have said: “What is the overall timeline of Android 4.0 updates? The majority of devices will receive upgrades in June and July 2012 and we expect to finish upgrades in August 2012 for all announced devices. When will my device get the Android 4.0 upgrade? The target timeline for announced devices is below. Because of partner and network testing, and approval processes for device updates, it can take up to 45 days for all carriers and countries to get the update after a rollout has begun.”

| Samsung Tells Us Why S-Voice Was Blocked Posted: 23 May 2012 06:13 AM PDT We recently told you here that Samsung has decided to block off the servers that were responsible for responding to all our queries to its much anticipated S-Voice application which was leaked online. This application only ran on the ICS running android devices but our joys were short lived as Vlingo the partners of Samsung in running of S-Voice application which is to be kept as an exclusive for the flagship device i.e. Galaxy SIII. However, Samsung has allegedly explained its move to block the application by saying this: "An initial test version of S Voice which was found online has been blocked as Samsung Electronics does not want consumers to judge the quality of the voice feature based on a test version. When the product is launched, users of GALAXY S III will be able to fully experience S Voice." To me that makes absolute sense as Samsung would not want people to be judging the application which is not in the market yet and bearing in mind that S-Voice is one of the unique Selling Points of the GS3, Samsung would not want people to form any sort of negative opinion about the device before it is even launch. So a justified move there from Samsung and responsible of them by letting us know. I just hope that once the application is fully ready and the launch of Galasy SIII is done we can get this voice assistant on all of our ICS running devices. Via: TechnoBuffalo Related posts:

You can be happy that these changes are not drastic like the timeline introduction ones which lets be honest made a lot of us scratch our heads to come around all the yearly mess we made on Facebook. The changes are extremely minor and involve basically the movement of your contact information and profile information over to your cover image instead of the white strip they currently lie on. There would also be an added piece of information in the form of story which would describe all the major events of your life that you chose facebook to be a part of.
