| Social Media Results on Steroids Using One Simple Tactic Posted: 03 Apr 2012 09:15 AM PDT I’m seeing a consistent trend among my Mastermind Consulting clients: they’re not asking their current networks to help them promote new business ventures. Sure, ultimately it’s up to you to promote your latest projects on your own social networks, but we all have an inherent narrowness to our connections: we tend to include people in our networks that are most like ourselves, and miss out on those weak links that provide the strongest opportunities for new leads and a diverse perspective on your offerings. (Keith Ferrazzi recently shared a Harvard Business Review article on this very topic.) Increase your success factor exponentially by doing one simple thing: ask your colleagues to share about your latest venture. Your news gets in front of people far beyond your own network. Facebook & LinkedIn make it easy with the Share link, Twitter has the retweet, and Pinterest has the repin. When sharing is as easy as one click, why not? All that’s missing is your request for help. Want an example? I’ll be releasing a new infographic on Pinterest in the coming weeks. My infographics have been shared worldwide, and I’ll definitely be offering the opportunity for my colleagues and those who have published my infographics previously to share this one. I plan on a simple email with my infographic blog post link, and a sample tweet/FB post to accompany it. I make it super easy: all people have to do is cut and paste. I make it simple for my friends to help me. Do you? |

| Pinterest Marketing for Business: Video, Slideshare, & Online Class Posted: 02 Mar 2012 07:39 AM PST Does it seem like the web is abuzz with Pinterest fever? No doubt you’ve been hearing a lot about this new social network lately and you’re curious: should I be using it for business? You can answer that question for yourself: are your clients primarily women? If yes, then JUMP onto Pinterest. Do. Not. Wait. If no, then don’t worry about it. Your clients aren’t on Pinterest. Is it really that simple? Yes, it is. Women are flocking to Pinterest, a visual social network, for ideas, inspiration, and a fun way to network online. One of my clients told me today “I keep a pen by my table to write down all the ideas I see on Pinterest. I never have this much fun on Facebook!” Here’s my Pinterest Marketing crash course that’s been featured on Slideshare.net’s home page. I’m debuting a Pinterest Marketing class next month, and I host a one-hour webinar based on these slides. They include a case study that you absolutely do not want to miss: Here are the details on next month’s debut of my Pinterest Marketing online class. Until then, happy pinning! |
