| Mixing It Up: [Video] Storytelling for On-the-Go Marketers Posted: 26 Jun 2012 08:00 AM PDT
Tout caught my attention and interest in working with them because behind the scenes a social transformation is occurring… in how we share information. Twitter introduced 140-character messaging, we got crafty with bite-size messaging. Instagram made waves with insta-picture sharing, we started sharing (edited) photos more instantaneously. And now we're creating stories that last less than :15 with video-making apps like Tout, sharing information with sight and sound as-it-happens. What does this mean for marketers?
Want to dip your toe in (video) storytelling?Below are some tips for making and sharing video content via app. Keep it Short – Aim for Brevity. Build momentum through a storyboard of short, event-based activities. Then post to a minimum of (3) distribution points based on what you know matters to your audience – where they engage and stick around to follow your storyline. Keep it Sweet – Wit and Style. Let your personality come through. Have fun with what you share. Don't be canned. Don't let a running video camera taunt you out of being authentic with your audience. Keep it Informative – Seek to Educate about your space, work, interests, and even off-hours things you do that shape who you are and what makes your brand tick. Keep it Inspirational – Make Hearts Race. Remember, our brain stores for long(er) term memory when we have strong visuals, sound and colorful things developed into a message. Get creative.
