3 Out of Date Traffic Methods That Still Work

People often forget about traffic tactics after they stop being "cool." Perhaps these tactics went through a bad streak, where they stopped converting profitably for a time - Perhaps because of competition that drove up the prices. The bottom line is that all advertising is profitable at some price. There are plenty of traffic tactics that have fallen out of favor with the marketing community that still work. What are these methods? Here are three. Co-Registration Marketing Remember when the "Pipeline Profits System" (PIPS) came out? This was a system that taught how to market exclusively with co-registration leads. Prior to the system coming out, co-reg worked for a small handful of marketers. After the program came out, thousands of marketers flooded the co-reg market, quickly driving up the price. Then it fell out of favor again. The reality is, co-reg leads are still very much alive today. You can easily buy leads for your email lists for pennies - People who've already expressed an interest in receiving your emails. I'm not going to sugar coat it though: Making co-reg work is tough. You need to have lightning fast email systems, meticulous detail to split testing and the willingness to burn through a few unprofitable lists before striking gold. Bottom line is though, this still works and there's plenty of traffic in it. Solo Mailings Another underlooked traffic tactic is solo mailings. That's when you approach a list owner and simply offer to pay them a certain fee to mail out an email on behalf of your list or your product. In the past, there were several directories for solo mailings. There are few such directories today. Doing solo mailings now requires a bit of work. You have to research your own lists, contact them yourself and make them an offer. That said however, if you're willing to do the work, you can often get some prime exposure this way. Keep in mind that most list owners are protective of their lists and will only do a solo mailing if you prove that you have genuine value to offer to their readers. Buying Banner Ads "Banner ads is dead" is one of the most damaging marketing myths of the decade. If you want to get millions of profitable visitors to your website, there truly is no better way than banner ads. Yes, PPC can get you a few thousand visitors a month, but if you really want to scale, banner ads is where it's at. In order for banner ads to work, you need to be able to target a demographic. That means instead of targeting a keyword like "lose weight," you need to be able to make your offer work for a demographic - Such as "women between 30 and 40 who make $40,000 or more and have no children." Once you have your demographic nailed down, you can literally buy millions of impressions from sites that have those audience demographics. Generally you'll need between $5,000 to $10,000 to get started with media (banner) ad buys. These are three traffic tactics that still work wonders for experienced marketers - But are overlooked by the majority of the marketing community.
