2012/03/03 [WEEK 9 LESSON] - Free Traffic, SEO & Blowing Away the Competition Hey Fellows, Now is the time to starting thinking about organic search!  What I mean is the free listings that Google and the other search engines provide for their users.  The process of positioning your web sites to be ranked highly in the free organic search listings is called Search Engine Optimization or SEO.  And understand that getting high rankings the first page of Google DOES NOT involve keyword meta-tags or search engine submissions.  Also, this usually doesn't happen over-night either.  It may take a few weeks to a few months to start appearing.  And remember, other websites are competing for these same positions!  SEO is fairly simple, but can require a little bit of work. It is made up of two major components: On-Page SEO - The keywords, content and structure of your web page. Off-Page SEO - The popularity of your page based on who is linking to your website. Plus, a critical part of SEO is optimizing for your money keywords!  From your keyword research and PPC efforts, you should now have a good handle on which keywords to focus your SEO efforts on. If you do this right, you'll start to get tons of extremely highly targeted traffic to your website...and you won't even have to pay for it!
