| iPhone secure messaging & encrypted vault app FoxyGram Posted: 24 Aug 2012 03:39 AM PDT FoxyGram review Foxygram is an all-round iPhone security app to store encrypted data and secure messaging, it will protect your privacy if your phone goes missing. Before you can send secure Foxygram messages your friend will need to have the same app installed on their iPhone, a custom code will have to be exchanged to add your contact and generate a Foxygram ID, the code exchange should be made in person, or encrypted email, and not through SMS, after that you can start communicating securely. Photos, videos, notes and credit card details will all be encrypted with AES-256/SHA-256 and stored inside the vault, the camera lets you take photos and videos directly to the encrypted vault, those items will not show in your Camera Roll. When you send a message it is possible to require the receiver to be at a certain GPS location before being able to read it, you can set a message expiration date or timer that will make it unavailable after X hours or days. A photo protect mode will delete sent pictures if the receiver attempts to take a screen capture iPhone encryption app Foxygram Encryption is carried out locally, FoxSync will backup your vault and contacts to the cloud but this will already have been encrypted before leaving the device. Brute force attacks on the encrypted vault are slowed down introducing a waiting time after each failed attempt. Encrypted email attachments, called Foxygrams, are impossible to read by any eavesdropper. The app is free and has a premium upgrade that will unlock features like a dummy code to show preset non secret data, providing plausible deniability for those living in countries where they might be forced to reveal their password, a nuke ccode to wipe all data stored within the app in case of emergency and taking discreet photos and videos with the stealth camera while the phone screen appears black as if not in use. Note: This app will not run on jailbroken phones. |
