How To Get The iPhone 5 Look On Your Android Device Posted: 28 Sep 2012 10:08 AM PDT iPhone 5 with 5 rows has become synonymous with style. It indeed is a unique look most of all because we have become so custom to the whole 4 row look. Suddenly the iPhone looks a little stretched with that one extra row of application icons. This news has not gone un-noticed from the developers of Android. And if you too are an Android user who would like to experience how the feel of iPhone 5 is, then we have the perfect solution for you. Check out this screenshot, you may well be mistaken that this is indeed an Android OEM running the latest form of iOS. If you are also interested in giving your Android device the perfect iOS look, then just follow these simple steps: Step 1: Go to Google Play Store on your Android Device. Step 2: Search for Fake iPhone 5 launcher. Let the file download. Step 3: Once you have done that, press the home button on your device. It would ask you for the launcher you wish to select. Step 4: Simply select the iPhone 5 launcher. And you are ready with the look of iPhone 5 on your device. Even though this launcher is very similar to the MIUI launcher, as it places all the applications in the form of boxes on various of your device, there is no real place for you to add widgets which Android is mostly famous for. Also the launcher is slightly sluggish and on my Galaxy Nexus it seemed to have a massive lag while scrolling across. All the icons do seem responsive though as they do indeed launch the right applications. However, if it is the iPhone look you want then you cannot really go wrong with this launcher. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook Apologies To Customers Over iOS 6 Maps Posted: 28 Sep 2012 06:53 AM PDT In a move that has the tech community sweating and totally shocked, Apple CEO Tim Cook has offered official apology to all it’s customers for the incompetent maps application on iOS 6. This is indeed a shocking news on two fronts. Number one that Apple has so openly come out and admitted that they released something that was not upto the scratch. The second being that Tim himself advised the customers to use services like Bing maps, Nokia maps or even Google maps. Apple have always been extremely shrewd when it has come to keeping their customers well within their ecosystem. It is even worth noting, that Apple had another one year on contract with Google maps, and if their maps apps was not ready then they could well have waited for sometime before having to admit to such a public failure. It indeed is a chaotic revelation, and the sort of stuff, you believe would never have happened under Steve Jobs. If you are interested in reading the entire letter then here it is for you: “ To our customers, At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better. We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up. There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you. While we're improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app. Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard. Tim Cook “ Via: Apple Related posts:
